Title of the thesis: Modeling quasielastic neutron scattering spectra from proteins in solution

Abstract :
The thesis subject concerns the development of models for the dynamics of intrinsically disordered proteins as it is seen by quasielastic neutron scattering, as well as the data analysis with these models.
The project is co-financed by the Région Centre – Val de Loire and the Jülich Center for Neutron Science in Germany. The principal workplace will be the Centre de Biophysique Moléculaire in Orléans, which is an interdisciplinary research laboratory of the CNRS in the field of biosciences (physics, chemistry, biology). Within the project the thesis student will also participate in the data acquisition at the Maier-Leibnitz-Zentrum in Garching close to Munich, which hosts the German national neutron source FRM II (Forschungsreaktor München II). The ideal candidate has a Master degree in physics, physical chemistry, or in physical engineering, with a specialization in biophysics and/or soft matter physics. Deeper knowledge in applied mathematics and programming experience would be appreciated.
