Current research focus:

  • Interactions of high-energy heavy ions with materials
  • Radiation hardness of polymers
  • Beam time coordination at GSI
 

This is what I would advocate for in the KFSI:

  • Visibility of the KFSI in the research landscape and general science communication.
  • Further opening of the committee for young scientists; introduction of a doctoral student / post-doc representation in the committee
  • Future strategies for networking university research goals with the development of large-scale facilities (e.g. GSI/FAIR)
