Current research focus:  

• Accelerator vacuum systems
• Ion-surface interaction
• Ion beam nanostructures for sensor applications

This is what I would advocate for in the KFSI:

• Maintaining and expanding the research infrastructure for materials research with high-energy heavy ions at the GSI Helmholtz Centre in Darmstadt.

• Acquisition of young scientists in the field of ion beam materials research and nanotechnology

• Expansion of the exchange between the institutes to strengthen interdisciplinary cooperation
