100. KFS meeting

Komitee Forschung mit Synchrotronstrahlung

Friday, Feb 28, 2020, Kiel

KFS election: Candidates are sought for the KFS election. The KFS will compile a list of possible candidates at the next meeting. Care should be taken to ensure that all important research areas are covered. An email newsletter will also be sent out inviting proposals. The election will be conducted by the PT DESY, possibly for the first time as an electronic ballot.

Digital Agenda: The NFDI proposal (DAPHNE) should be improved. The decision on funding is still pending. In ErUM-Data, a funding scheme for the planned umbrella organisation is currently being developed. The KFS is in favour of extending the cooperation with the Committee Research with Neutrons (KFN) to ErUM-Data, which has proved successful in NFDI.

KFS brochure: The draft of the KFS brochure is available and some central aspects are discussed. The structure of the brochure is to be understood in such a way that the recommendations are at the beginning, the arguments are developed in the middle and at the end the recommendations are repeated as more concrete statements. The brochure should be completed by March 2020.

Dates: The next KFS meeting is scheduled to take place as a video conference at the end of April/beginning of May.

The regular KFS meeting was followed by a festive event. The program was as follows:
