Tasks and aims of the Committee Research with Synchrotron Radiation

Task:

The main task of the Committee Research with Synchrotron Radiation (KFS) is promoting the research with synchrotron radiation.

Representation:

In accordance to its statutes the KFS represents scientists, who work with synchrotron radiation in the context of the BMBF-Verbundforschung Condensed Matter. The KFS and also the committees KFN (neutrons) and KFSI (nuclear probes and ion beams) send two representatives into the KEKM (Comission Research on Condensed Matter) each.

Members:

The committee consists of seven elected members and of guests, whereas the elected members are representatives of the synchrotron radiation centres while the guests are representatives of the respronsible bodies for research on condensed matter (BMBF, DFG, Promoter PT-DESY).

Coopted members:

In addition members can be coopted to reach a balanced representation of the different fields in the committee.

KEKM:

The Committee Research with Synchrotron Radiation (KFS) is a panel Member of the Commission Research on Condensed Matter (KEKM).
